Carlton is another Yamhill County town that has transitioned from farm town to wine town. Though, traditional agriculture is not exactly dead, it is just that the wine gets all the headlines. If you go a little off the beaten path, you can find Carlton Meats where you can get a lot of fresh beef or pork. Staying on the beaten path takes you north on Oregon 47 to Yamhill or south to McMinnville. Surprisingly, the city boasts its own swimming pool, something many cities much bigger lack.
