Forest Grove

Washington County’s oldest city is home to the only real university in the county with Pacific University. This college town is located along Oregon 8 (Pacific Avenue through downtown) at the west end of the Tualatin Plains, and is bisected by Oregon 47. In fact, Oregon 8 at Yew Street is the 38th most dangerous intersection in Oregon (other dangerous intersections).

Oregon 8 is still TV Highway at the east end of town from Cornelius until TV Highway goes south as it transitions to Oregon 47 on its way to Gaston an McMinnville. Besides the college, Forest Grove also boasts an active theater scene, McMenamins Grand Lodge, and Scotties where you can get chocolate soft serve ice cream. Plus they host an annual barbershop quartet competition. Pacific University's main campus is downtown, but it also operates a campus in Hillsboro
