Reedville
Named after the same person for which Reed College in Portland is named, Reedville is another old community slowly being devoured by a neighbor. Combined with neighboring Aloha, Reedville is a census designated place along Tualatin Valley Highway between Aloha and Hillsboro. The latter is slowly annexing into it, to which Reedville is already a part of the Hillsboro School District after unification in 1996 (that unification also absorbed the West Union, Farmington View, Groner – in Scholls, and North Plains school districts).
The big question though, is where does Aloha end and Reedville begin. Since neither is a city, there is no formal boundary, but 198th Avenue makes for a good border as that is also the boundary line between the Beaverton and Hillsboro school districts. Reedville’s biggest attraction is the famed fiberglass rabbit sculpture at Harvey Marine.
